Character: Cordycepin is white crystal in needle or sheet shape.

Use (1) Anti-tumor effect of cordycepin: At present, researchers have summarized the anti-tumor mechanism of cordycepin into two types: direct effect and indirect effect. Direct effect means that the anti-tumor components in cordycepin directly inhibit the proliferation of tumor cells by interfering with the exchange of nucleic acid, protein nucleic acid and glucose of target cells. Cordycepin can act on multiple cell signal transduction pathways, causing autophagy or apoptosis. The indirect effect refers to the anti-tumor active component in cordycepin, which can enhance the function of immune cells by promoting the proliferation and differentiation of human immune cells, so as to play an anti-tumor role. (2) Antiviral effect of cordycepin: cordycepin was first discovered and studied as a nucleoside antibiotic. It has extensive inhibitory effects on bacteria, fungi, viruses and other pathogenic microorganisms. (3) Anti-aging effect of cordycepin: cordycepin can increase the activity of SOD enzyme in the liver, inhibit the formation of superoxide compounds, and enhance the activity of monoamine oxidase in the brain, which indicates that cordycepin has anti-aging effect. (4) Cordycepin can reduce blood fat and anticoagulation: Cordycepin can also increase the weight of spleen, accelerate the rate of nucleic acid and protein renewal in liver, and has the effect of anti-hypoxia, increasing myocardial nutritional blood flow and reducing serum cholesterol. The mechanism of action of cordycepin is very complex, but at least we know that the role of cordycepin has been undisputed in academic circles. In addition, the functions of cordycepin in lowering blood sugar, treating and preventing obesity, anti-aging and improving memory all show that cordycepin is a rare nutrient.

Pharmacological effect: most cordyceps fungi are known to contain cordycepin, which obviously plays an important role in anti-tumor effect. Jagger believes that there are three reasons why cordycepin in cordyceps fungi inhibits tumor development: (1) The free alcohol group of cordycepin can be incorporated into the DNA of cancer cells and act. In 1977, M ü ller et al found that cordycepin had a strong inhibitory effect on the proliferation of L5718Y cells, with ED50 of 0.27 μ g; This inhibition can be cancelled by adenine nucleoside, but 2 '- deoxynucleoside cannot be cancelled; The test of cordycepin labeled with tritium showed that cordycepin could penetrate into RNA rather than DNA, and it could be phosphorylated into 3 '- ATP in cells; Effect of 3 '- ATP on DNA-dependent DNA polymerase in L5718Y cells α and β It has no effect on the activity, but has a strong inhibitory effect on nuclear Poly (A) polysaccharide, which will inevitably lead to the obstacle of mRNA maturation, and can affect the formation of mRNA and the synthesis of protein. The anti-tumor effect of cordycepin may be related to this mechanism. In 1997, the United States has used cordycepin in phase III clinical trials to treat patients with acute pre-B and pre-T lymphoblastic leukemia. At the same time, cordycepin also shows strong antifungal, anti-HIV and selective inhibition of clostridium bacteria. In 1985, Jiang Ping observed the cytotoxic effects of Cordyceps sinensis and cultured mycelium (Qinghai) on ECA cells in vitro. Results For ECA cells cultured in vitro, the total staining rate was 100% and 80% at the lowest effective concentration of 0.405 mg/ml and 25 mg/ml, respectively, indicating that the drugs had different cytotoxic effects on ECA. According to the comprehensive in vivo test, the anti-tumor effect is related to the drug containing a certain amount of 3 '- deoxynucleoside and cordyceps polysaccharide, as well as the overall immune regulation of the drug and the maintenance of the relative balance of the body's immune function. Cordyceps sinensis has certain cytotoxicity, which is consistent with the reported results of strong cytotoxicity of cordycepin against L1210.
